Straight after this she then rolled in a sand dune to soak up the mud. luckily behind the beach was a dyke that separated some marsh and a river so we 'encouraged' her into the river. She smelt a bit 'pondy' after that so it was straight into the shower in the caravan we stayed in once we got back, at least by then most of the thick mud had come off.
