muddy paws
Hi Please can I have some advice please. I have just bought a 2nd hand eglu classic in orange with extended run for a very good price £150 advertised in the paper. But the lady hadn't made any attempt to clean it. It was absolutly filthy. I have hosed it down and scrubbed and scrubbed and it is a lot lot better. Got rid of all the mud etc But there are tiny blobs like black pin pricks still left all over the orange , and I would love to be able to get these off. Has anyone got any ideas on what to use to get them off. Thanks
fluffy chick
I'm afraid they are common Mine is 2 months old and is covered in areas that are pitted and already looks dirty. Some people pressure wash them with good effect but I personally cannot be bothered to do this each week. What a bargain well done you! beach chick
sounds good! if the black marks really bother you, then pressure wash is the way to go. but if they are on the outside, they will only come back, so I would try and live with them if you can... Sam
Bargain!! I did a thread the other week about the little black holes. I jet washed it and it came up great! But again this week the holes are muddy again and I'm not getting the jet wash out again
Chicken shack
Once it is as clean as you can get it rub with a cheap vegetable oil it will look as good as new. Edited May 2, 2011 by Guest
kissinuk
I'd definitely get a pressure washer to it, works a treat (inside & out + feeders).
Henchanted
My eglu was 2nd hand and not particularly well cleaned. I used (and still use occasionally) Sainsburys Method Spray, the purple liquid in a clear bottle. Spray on generously, leave for 10 - 15 minutes, and dirt and stains rinse away with a good hosing and maybe the help of a brush. It is safe for humans and animals (therefore safe for hens) but bad news for those unwanted bugs. BTW that is a fantastic price, they don't have 2 to sell do they ???
