gongladosh
I've got the Beehaus, but the bees haven't arrived yet - I think I may have to chase Omlet soon! Is anyone else waiting for their colony to arrive? Edited May 26, 2011 by Guest

Lesley
It may still be a bit early for the bees to be ready - maybe phone Omlet to check anyway?
Egluntyne
Yes, I'd phone Omlet. This is something that forum members will be unable to help with.
Old Speckled Hen
I have a friend who took delivery of her Beehaus 8 weeks ago and is still waiting for bees. She has been told "end of the monthish" as they are currently out of stock. She is organising a refund on the bees and sourcing them elsewhere as there seem to be plenty available. What surprises me about their bees is the beebox is on 14 x 12 and the bees supplied come on national frames. I wonder whether Omlet do a frame conversion kit or whether you just have to work the frames out over a season; seems a bit of a faff, but then can you get a nuc on jumbo frames anywhere? gongladosh
I'll give them a call on Monday then I'm getting seriously excited about adding more 'wildlife' to my garden. I wonder what I'm going to call all 10,000 of them?!? I may need to buy a name book...
gongladosh
Good news - I spoke to Johannes today - my bees arrive on 26th! Can't wait!
Old Speckled Hen
Great, let us know how it all goes. I'm interested in how the Beehaus performs.

gongladosh
getting excited now! Johannes was saying I'll need to let them fly free for a day before transferring to the beehaus, so I guess I'll need to speak to the 'Bee Man' to see how that works... I suspect the hens will hate me that day...
gongladosh
I now have bees! They're currently stretching their wings a bit in the garden (but not too much - it's raining in manchester for a change). I'll transfer the frames to the Beehaus tomorrow! gongladosh
First thing we've noticed -and we're very happy about this- you don't see millions of bees hanging about, you see 2 or 3 at a time and that's it.
