Omletina Kyckling
Are there any skilled embroiderers out there? As some of you will have read on the Nesting Box, my dad passed away yesterday and when he died, we were with him, and tears came from his eyes, so mum wiped them with a handkerchief. She would like to have it embroidered with his name and the date, but I know I'm not up to it. Just wondered if there were any skilled freehand embroiderers out there or if anybody has any suggestions?
craftyhunnypie
Oh Omletina that is so beautiful & sad too. Certainly brought a lump to my throat. I can embroider, but would not trust myself on something so sentimental. I hope someone much more experienced will come along soon. Could it be turned into a small pillow? It would have been nice if you had children, for it to be their wedding ring pillow later in life. I hope it gets turned into something even more beautiful than it already is. AJuff
If you ask in the sewing maching demo department of John Lewis where they set up their digital sewing machines. You just type in what you want embroidering and it does it all automatically. I'm sure they'd help.
The Dogmother
That's a lovely idea Diane. I used to embroider a lot when I had the time... sadly no longer though try contacting the Embroiderers Guild to see if they have anyone in your area.
