Couperman
How do you delete posts? kev
Mel (& Paul)
You press the red x in the corner - or you ask a Mod to do it
Couperman
erm...I don't see a red 'x' other than the one that kills the browser. But as you are a Mod, would you mind. It is the photobucket test post in the testing area. I am not that ashamed of my physique, I just didn't want to clog the forum with junk! Ta. Sheilaz
...the x at the top of the actual post, after the word edit.... PS, I've been back & enlarged it & posted it in Nesting Box.....is that what you said? ...oh, alright then, I deleted it, Kev, although it was a very fine pic. Gallina
You can only delete a message up until the time that any other forum member has read it. As soon as a message has been read, two things happen: (1) The cross disappears (2) Any further edits will be recorded as edits. So (being a fusspot) if I see a mistake or repetition in the message I have just sent, I click Edit and race to correct it before anyone else looks at the message: then people will think I got it right first time. If you have a message you are desperate to get rid of, the best thing to do is to click Edit and then delete the text. But it would be polite to say why you had deleted it, as everyone will see a blank message.
Couperman
Thanks Gallina, I obviously wasn't looking at the latest post! I'll get the hang of foruming before too long! Kev
Guest
Please remember, you only get a specific time to edit your posting (Kate may be able to enlighten us to the precise time - i can't remember.. ), after which it is cast in stone, unless you speak nicely to a moderator, as we have the almighty power of deleting and editing posts till the cows come home.......... (Nothing to do with our mighty modding powers, and more to do with the fact that we are most likely to post while under the influence of humungous quantities of wine..... )
Mrs Frugal
So (being a fusspot) if I see a mistake or repetition in the message I have just sent, I click Edit and race to correct it before anyone else looks at the message: then people will think I got it right first time. Gallina, were we separated at birth . I do that too!
