Pro - Does anyone else's nest boxes get soaked in rain?

Our 1st chick hatched this morning , 2 others (total of 6) have also pipped though are not progressing very much. This afternoon is day 21. First chick is clambering over the other eggs, moving them and the ones that are pipped, the pipped bit is now on the floor of the incubator.

 

Possibly chick1 will move them back, however will all this movement or the position of the remaining eggs cause a problem?

Not at all - it will encourage the others to get a hurry on!

Mine did the ame thing yesterday its so cute to watch i couldnt move all night .

My first lot hatched on Sunday/Monday - better than watching TV anyday! Managed to catch 2 breaking out the egg...was the most fabulous sight!

Tell me about it, YS (17) and I have been stood for the last hour convinced the 2nd egg is going to hatch any minute! Saw the first hatch this morning and it was fab!

My youngest(9) is taking our 12 day old chicks into school today & giving a talk (well, chicken facts!) No doubt parents will hold me responsible for cries of 'can we have a chicken?'

This is now where I am wishing that our eglu is see through! Oh the joys of watching chicks hatch!

 

mmm thinking putting a cctv camera into it..then again DH might just kick me in the rear end for spending more money on chicken stuff!

It has been fantastic to watch even engaging 17 & 20 yr olds, but very time consuming waiting! We now have 3 chicks hatched and think another one will not be long now, so looking like 4/6 success rate.
