Mr Rhode Island Red
My four chicks are 6 or 7 weeks old today (29 may 2011) and I was wondering when I should be changing them to growers pellets. Thanks millions Mr Rhode Island Red

WitchHazel
It's best to do it gradually, starting with a mix of chick crimb and growers pellets and gradually increasing the proportion of growers. A week is a good rule of thumb for the changeover, but I'm often guided by how much (or little) chick crumb I have left. It can also depend on what the littlie like. This year, as soon as we started adding growers, the littlees would eat them first and ignore their chick crumb, so we did the change over only 3 days. bostock422
try 6.5 weeks then you can't go wrong , but personally i start them on at 6 weeks, unless i have a little bit of chick crumbs left, then I let them eat the rest before going on growers
