witzend
YAY - my classic has arrived today - OMG didn't realise just how heavy (aka sturdy!) it is.............what a good workout !!! I'm having a problem with the catch on the slide out tray - I managed to unclip it to initially pull it out but I can't now get it to re-clip in. Has anyone else had the same/similar issue or tips to solve? x
daxigirl
Hi there, I bet your excited about it's arrival, what colour did you go for? You need to make sure that the clip is in line with the plastic dent that it sits in, if that doesn't work you can push the clip towards the flat base to ease the sticking, or is there any bedding in the dent bit as that can stop it clicking into place. I know what you mean about heavy, I always smile and think that the fox would need to bring his mates along to shift it in a hurry.
witzend
Hi - nothing in the way to 'stick' - currently just straight out of the box and will have to be in the lounge until WIR is built!!! FRIED EGLU!!! - white with an orange egg door!!! Currently no icon for it..................can someone do one?? x
daxigirl
Cool - one of the fried egg limited editions. Woe betide the first one to christen the interior
Olly
If you take the egg-port door out and separate the two parts, it's not too bad. It must be taking up some room in your lounge! I'd stick it in the garden, it'll be fine outdoors. Just take a look at the bendy clip, it does need to be in the right position but it should just spring back once the tray is pushed in, so that only someone with fingers (i.e. not a foxy-coated gentleman with paws and teeth) can release it to pull it out. fluffy chick
My clip is a bit tight too, I wedge it tight with my foot and try and lean over to get the pin in getting quite good at it now. You must be excited! When you getting chickens or do you aready have them?
witzend
LOL - it's waist height on a table so I don't think the foot idea would work!! Flattening the catch seems to help though Chicks not yet hear - WIR still to be built 1st - but I'm hopeful of having them in a couple of weeks.............as soon as the WIR is built the FEGLU can move out of the living room!!! sadietoo
My OH didn't realise there was a clip on our poo tray, and managed to muller ours..however, with a little readjustment it works absolutely fine. I know what you mean about heavy, I was out when ours was delivered(it didn't come when arranged ) so a neighbour took it in. Poor man almost gave himself a hernia carrying it over to our house later...I felt soooo bad ...but gave him my very first eggs to compensate....! witzend
mine came ready made and the box it so huge it only JUST fit through the door!!! The delivery man managed to get it part way into our hallway and then I had to manoever it into the lounge...........I've currently got a table (for under it), the eglu (sitting on top of table) the dismantled cradle that I'm using for a ladder/climbing frames and 3 boxes full of food/1st aid/cleaning stuff etc ........................all in the lounge 2 dogs and cat think it's an assault course!
