Mollie333
Getting a bit worried now. I hatched my first lot out from Bruno my Pekin cockerel, 5 boys. I hatched a second lot, looking like 5 boys again.. Could Bruno only throw male chicks? Thanks
surfer_chicken
Were all the eggs you set successful? I read somewhere that different sexes are better at developing at different temperatures, so that could be related (I don't know how true it is though ) I can't think of a reason why he would only produce boys ;maybe you've just been unlucky so far? Redwing
There is no way of influencing the sex of chicks, deliberately or by accident - if there was then hatcheries would only produce females I think you have been extremely unlucky, 80% of my Pekins are male too yet most of my dottes are females, I think its just the luck of the draw though
Mollie333
I hatched them under a broody. Just my luck then. Thanks anyway
snowberry
Isn't there something about the younger the cockeral, the higher the likehood of the offspring being male?
