witzend
I've been looking through existing posts re citronella and flies etc - do people use citronella oil for torcehs (about £5 for 1 ltr from B&Q etc) or the 'aromatherapy' citronella oil which is obviously more expensive.............?? I've also seen that people burn citronella candles in the WIR - presumably these are hung up somewhere safe from burning chicken feathers?? The Dogmother
I just use a dab each of citronella oil and eucalyptus oil on a bit of kitchen paper and tuck it under the tarp that covers the run - works a treat and smells lovely. You can also sprinkle a wee bit on the Aubiose in the nest box to keep it fresh.

Bramble
You don't need much of the aromatherapy oil, just a few drops on a bit of cloth as Claret says is enough, also thanks to Claret, I use a mix of a few drops each of citronella and eucalyptus aromatherapy oil mixed with water and spray that in the eglu from time to time, seems to work brilliantly (thank you Claret ) Edited June 10, 2011 by Guest
