best citronella to use?

Recommended Posts

I've been looking through existing posts re citronella and flies etc - do people use citronella oil for torcehs (about £5 for 1 ltr from B&Q etc) or the 'aromatherapy' citronella oil which is obviously more expensive.............??

I've also seen that people burn citronella candles in the WIR - presumably these are hung up somewhere safe from burning chicken feathers??

You don't need much of the aromatherapy oil, just a few drops on a bit of cloth as Claret says is enough, also thanks to Claret, I use a mix of a few drops each of citronella and eucalyptus aromatherapy oil mixed with water and spray that in the eglu from time to time, seems to work brilliantly (thank you Claret :D )

Glad to hear it Bramble - I use it all summer and never really have any fly problems. The end of my garden smells lovely
