Seagazer
Good, sounds as if things are on the up. Don't forget that its a bit of a shock for him (and you) and it does normally take time to settle in new surroundings.

The Dogmother
Try mashing a little tinned pilchards in tomato sauce into his kibble as a treat - it's very good for them and they really love it. I get the Glenryk ones, they are often on offer in Poundland.
quickcluck
Again another better day. I have left him twice, once I came back and he was fretting, the second he was sleeping in his bed. I suppose we both have to learn. He is single minded on chewing everything, us, furniture, stairs, the hearth...... so I've give him a tiny knotted bone to chew, and he's occupied!!!! I am kong shopping on saturday so that will help, but we are all battered and bruised!!
The Dogmother
That's good, praise him when he's in his bed and being good when you come in. Ignore him if he's making a noise - don't even look at him. Ruby didn't chew much as a pup, but she did chew one of the wooden k"Ooops, word censored!"s on my old kitchen - I sprayed it with some bitter apple spray and gave her something nicer to chew and she soon stopped.
