ThinkingChickens
Ugh, just ordered our second Go as we are designing a WIR and thought they'd look great side by side. I got an email today saying they don't expect them in until the end of July. Eek, that's going to be tough. Our younger girls are three weeks now. I guess we'll have to use a dog crate in the meantime while we integrate the newbies with the older ladies.
Ain't Nobody Here
What a shame . Hope you manage to get something rigged up in the meantime.
ThinkingChickens
In an act of desperation I offered to take any color they had. My girls are four weeks and would probably rather be outside. Alas, all colors are backordered. Ugh! Ha ha
Lewis
Thats not great customer service that they don't warn you before purchasing. I guess they need to get enough ordered to send a container over though! Still, its only a few more weeks!
ThinkingChickens
Well, the screen here in the US did say "Order now for July" so I did know. I guess in my mind I was just figuring July first or maybe the 5th, not the very end of July. I'm happy for Omlet that the company is catching on over here. I hear talk about Omlet almost every time I bring up chickens. Fun stuff! I might have to start hosting a class.
chicks4erin
ThinkingChickens, this is my first post, no chickens yet, but lurking on here and Backyard Chickens for awhile now. I was contemplating the Cube, but they just raised the price $200 and was looking at the Go now as the Classic isn't available. I assume since you are ordering another Go you are happy with it, yes/no? Any tips or comments on what you like and don't like about it? I would put the Go in WIR yet to be built. My plan is to get set-up by Fall, then get the chickens in the Spring. Maybe a silly question, but if the chicken addiction strikes me as it seems most and I get more than 2-3 chickens and buy another Go such as yourself, how do you get the new chickens to stay in the other Go once they are all integrated? Also I see you have full size birds, do you think only 2 full size in 1 Go? BTW, I didn't realize it until just now, but I stumbled across your blog in my internet chicken surfing addiction the other night and just loved it, truly (you kept me up until after 1 a.m. on a work night). So nicely written, read all your Chicken stories, very nice and some so sad. But good to know it's a reality sometimes. Thanks for sharing and look forward to more blog posts!! chicks4erin
Thinking Chickens, I got your blog mixed up with someone else, I did stay up late reading yours too, but the sad chicken part was from Green Frieda at http://greenfrieda.blogspot.com/ another good blog about raising backyard chickens. ThinkingChickens
I will definitely go follow the other blog. I read a few blogs every day. As far as the Go, I love mine. It's easy to clean, it looks good, I don't have crazy smells, it can all come apart easily. I've been told on this forum that the girls will sort out who sleeps where and may at times all cram into one Eglu. I figure for the first weeks though my newer girls will be separated so may become accustomed to sleeping together. I have three full size girls for each Go. To be honest, the way they sleep, they are only using 1/4th the space anyway. They pile together. Now, in summer, they'll need more space from each other. Three full size girls work nicely in the Go. They could all be in there without really touching if they wanted, it's deceivingly bigger than I thought. Anyway, PM me if you think of more questions. We're building a WIR with an over/under shelf for both Go's. At least, that's the current plan. We keep tweaking it.
chicks4erin
ThinkingChickens, thanks for the response/information. I think I'm sold on the Go!
ThinkingChickens
Hooray, the Go shipped today, a month earlier than expected. I feel like running through the streets yelling, "The British are coming, the British are coming!" Okay, probably only funny to this American. LOL

LOL Especially coming up on 4th of July weekend, nontheless I still haven't ordered mine can't decide to either get our pullets this fall or wait until spring. I should just order the Go now just to have it for when we do decide so we aren't waiting on a shipment. Congrats on your new Go, can't wait to see pix of your WIR.
