CatsCube
I just switched on my incubator ready for setting eggs tomorrow and the fan isn't working All I can think of is that I have damaged something in someway when I washed it. Although all the electrics are in a water tight bit on the side. Will it still work without the fan? Its still heating up and a seperate plug handles the auto turn. or maybe add a little fan somewhere else in the lid? Im gutted, I have only used it once and it cost over £100 but its an ebay purchase so I cant return.
chicken bark
Any chance you can get in touch with the manufacturer?
Redwing
It may still work but could be problematic as its not designed to be used without the fan The temp at the top of the egg needs to be correct so you will have to lie a strip or probe thermometer on the top of the eggs to get that right - this may mean that the temp on the actual inccy readout could be higher You can probably get a new fan for it though

bronze
If you have eggs to set already then you're welcome to borrow mine. I'm out towards Dereham but pretty close to Norwich
CatsCube
Oh bronze you could well be a life saver! I have 24 eggs that I was going to set tomorrow, really don't want to have to waste them. What type of incubator is it? I have to go over to Dereham on Saturday.
bronze
Forgot to say in pm It's a Brinsea with the automatic cradle. From memory it's supposed to hold 24. Think it's an old style octogan 20 I haven't used it for a while though I did put it on recently so know it works I do have another not so posh (no turning etc) one if you have more eggs to set
CatsCube
Thats perfect, they are only bantam eggs so it should be just right. The very helpfull people at chicktec are tonight posting me a replacement fan. Mollie apparently its been a common fault with them, they have changed the fan now so the new one Im getting as a more robust fan housing apparently.
