Old Fool
I'm sooooo excited! We've been working in Bahrain for a year and we fly home to Spain in less than a week. Here in Bahrain I haven't seen any animals apart from the odd stray dog and cat, and the King's 450 camels. There are hardly any trees, no grass, no hills, just sand. And more sand. (Did I mention the sand?) Our Spanish neighbours have been looking after our chickens while we've been away. I wonder if they'll recognise us after a whole year? (The chickens, not our neighbours.) gongladosh
They'll recognise you but be stroppy and ignore you for a few days! After that you'll get the friendliness...
Old Fool
@Heidi-Hi - Thanks for the good wishes, you're right, I can't waitttttttt! @Cheaky Chook - Think I'm allergic to sand and deserts now. @Plum - hello again (I had to change my name) Haha! Love the idea of Skyping our girls... Why not? They already have the poshest chicken run in Spain. Anyway, I bet they'll remember the blue plastic box we always put our kitchen s"Ooops, word censored!"s in. They always went into a frenzy every time they saw it. Old Fool
Hi Gongladosh, Haha, you reminded me of a cat we used to have years ago. Every time we came back from a holiday, he would go all pathetic and develop a limp. The trouble was that he'd forget which was the lame paw so we knew he was faking it. Plum
Good forum name for one I think chickens have got lots of ways to get our attention without pretending to limp Have a look in the eglu and cube threads there are some really imaginative set ups there and great ideas for making it more interesting for them when enclosed. Post some pictures when you get back. We love pictures

Old Fool
It was true - he was a real character. He was the biggest cat in the neighbourhood, but a complete wimp. Every time he put his nose outside, all the other cats would gang up on him and beat him up, poor old thing. Victoria
