Tutti Frutti
Or is it only me Out of the 5 of them, Roxy's not eating the pellets but flicking it around instead. This evening, her crop was small and she ignored porridge (Garvo and then Fancy Feed) but went nuts for mealworms and corn (got some Nutridrops in her that way). Wondering if there are other chooks who refuse it or if she's not well. Gave her a health check - no parasites, bright red perky comb, tail up, running around (but... first to bed!), being flubenvetted this week (last done in Feb so due), clear bright eyes, breathing fine. Hmm Only things left are a softie (not laid for months) or the chin moult finally spreading to belly and bum. Yeah, gotta be the moult - can't believe she doesn't like Garvo
sparkysmum
If the rest are eating & she isn't / if she usually eats & she isn't just now maybe she's a little off colour. Having said that I have changed from Garvo minichick pellets for the dumpies ( well they all loved it) to growers pellets also Garvo for the dumpies & guess what they don't like it However paid a fortune for it (carriage costs) so they'll have to eat it or starve. Hope she's OK Tuti, Alli x
Redwing
If the hen isn't laying then she won't eat much at all anyway As for the treats wouldn't you hold out for chocolate if you knew you could refuse your dinner? I'm another 'eat it or go hungry' chook owner, I don't have time to deal with eating fads they won't starve themselves after all

I've never seen a hen hold out indefinitely for its favourite food. Like with my children, if you don't eat your first course, there's no pudding, matey.
