Forestchook
Hi, Can anyone recommend a good food dehydrator? Mum wants to get me a brithday present and I thought this might be a useful/practical thing to ask for Thanks N
Chucky Mama
There are a couple of previous threads on dehydrators. Have a quick search for 'food dehydrator' and you should be able to find them
Charlottechicken
I'm still considering one, the plum trees are laden this year and I do like the idea of fruit leathers
Chucky Mama
I have one but make fruit leathers in the oven on a baking tray as you can make them bigger and cut them more easily I think,
sage
I got a Stockli for my birthday. Love it Sage
Forestchook
Thanks. I did look at the previous threads but although people discussed them and what they did with them there were very few mentions of what makes people actually had! We have several fruit trees and bushes here so we make a lot of jam or bottled fruit. Unfortunatly we don't comsume or give away enough to keep up with our own production. However it seems criminal to let the fruit we cannot eat go to waste, hence an alternative means of perserving seems advisable. Sage, do you have the Stockli with a timer or without? sage
With timer. Can run it over night and it switches itself off. Sage
