I have just received an invitation to start using this in beta - has anyone else? I'm not sure it'll convert me from facebook just yet as most of my friends aren't using it (because they haven't been invited ), but the privacy features do appeal to me... thoughts?

I haven't seen it yet. FB can be so intrusive, the privacy thing does sound appealing!

Do you need an invite to join? Is this just before they lauch it?

A few people on facebook have got it and posted their links but I haven't really had a look at it yet.

as far as I can tell, someone you know who has it has to invite you, (until it's launched) but I could be wrong! I think it's so that people can't just use it to sign up, add a bunch of strangers etc

 

It's like facebook and twitter mixed - but with super duper privacy settings, and quite simple. I like it. I can't wait to see what it looks like when people are active on it!

... My invite was from a friend, you can only invite people to your circles if they're in your contacts.
