Hi guys quick question here

 

I have two hens. Both fed the same but one lays a darker yellow yolk than the other.. is this because they are different breeds or should the yolks be of similar colour when fed the same foods?

Yolk colour does vary with what they are fed, but it also varies from hen to hen. Giving them lots of greens makes their yolks lovely and golden, mine love spinach.

Will do.... they get grass every evening but they are fussy chooks... they wont eat any greens that are not par boiled lol... tried em with cabbage, broccolli..etc. I will try them with spinich, didnt think of that one

mine really like cauliflower greens over cabbage. cauli will go in an afternoon the same amount of cabbage will last 2 or 3 days they love grape vine leaves apple leaves and sour apples

mine have about 6 that they keep stripping the leaves off and I bet they are varieties that I can't afford to loose
