Ammonia smell in coop-first time owner

I need to get the locks changed on my front door, does anyone have any idea how much it might set me back to get a new lock fitted to a uPVC door? Assuming it's a weekday, during the working day, and not a same day emergency call out?

 

Trying to work out if it's worth trying to do myself!

Mmm I have looked up how to do it and it looks... deceivingly simple...but I don't want to break anything, I'm renting the house (from my Dad, who is away on contract in Singapore for a couple of years) - so I'd feel bad if I broke anything

you only need to change the barrel in a upvc doorwhich is childs play theres just one screw holding it in place it should be something like this :- http://www.screwfix.com/p/era-6-pin-euro-cylinder-lock-35-50-85-mm-brass/26183link for referance only you need an off set euro cylinder which will be between 75 - 85 mm long easiest way to find out is to take the cylinder out

just unscrew it put the key in the cylinder turn the the key slightly anti clockwise ( I think it's something I do that many times I don't think about it so it could be clockwise) about a 5 past the hour on a clock face that black lever in the photo has to be in line with the cylinder body. the remove the cylinder towards you it might be tight in which case you need to slacken off the door handle screws and possibly the lock screws but thats not likly in a upvc door
