emmastar
The breeder was going to keep her as he shows them and thought she looked nice but my kids had falen in love with heer and was giving him THAT FACE, so she came home with us shame she has a tiny hole indetween her toes or i would have loved to have a go with her to meet other chuck lovers
Redwing
She has probably been toe punched as a way of identifying her breeding, show breeders do this to keep track of what hatched from what breeding pen, its not a fault and she could still be shown with it
emmastar
O wow thanks redwing i have no idea at all about shows but something i would like to go to and 1 day maby try for myself , i will get a pic of the tiny hole to show you all tomorow , haha look at me talking about shows with my 10 week old girl whom i have no idea looks at all like she should do i just no i think she is stunning and looks like a lady
Redwing
If the breeder shows buff laced then she will probably be worth showing. If they breed blue laced then the buff laced chicks are a 'wastage' from this breeding and usually not as good quality as the buff laced ones that have been bred specifically Its fun to try at a local level though, there are a few shows in your part of the country
emmastar
I will have a look outand see if any local people will let me pop along with them to one so i can see what its all about

Chortle Chook
Oh how sad for Gismo I daren't raise any chooks from eggs as that decision would be such a very hard one.
emmastar
Oh how sad for Gismo I daren't raise any chooks from eggs as that decision would be such a very hard one. It is i went in the vets today with the dog and my nana said ask about gismo and i couldnt do it im a hopeless chock owner i felt so guilty for even thinking of it ans yet i know its got to be done hes started to crow and try it on with mop and shes not a happy girl . I will pluck up the couridge in the next weeks , Hes having a good free ranging time atm and i have asked my neabours to let me know when its starting to wake them or annoy them without telling them his fate as im not going to guilt them into not asking me to remove him
Chortle Chook
I think that is certainly the best way to go about it emmastar . One thing, whatever happens, Gismo will have had a nice life even if it does end up being short. My chicken loving neighbours, who didn't mind my cockerel, have just moved and I'm so worried about the next ones. I mightily that he'll crow whenever anyone comes to see the house next door, so that "Ooops, word censored!"ody who doesn't like cockerels moves in, but we shall see.
