What makes a chicken coop easy to live with?

And in this case it's a WIR! Horrrrrraaaaaayyyyy! Obviously a WIR comes before decorating the house one has just moved in to.

 

We've moved house. Got the WIR in pieces in my garage. I'm just finishing off 3 coats of painting (please note: find a one coat option, much faster). Got someone coming Friday morning to put it together for me. I've ordered my grub and glug stand from Omlet. Only one thing: please have your fingers crossed that my WIR roof will come Thursday. We've waited some time for it due to delivery issues (their end not ours).

 

I am extra looking forward to my WIR because the chickens are still at my parents (where we were living previously) in the . Our new garden is small and inclines slightly so we weren't able to accomodate a and run. My parents have been hen sitting, for 5wks, helping by locking them up at night/leaving them out in the morning and storing food overnight. So I think they'll be glad of the WIR too.

 

It's a very small WIR so unfortunately this does not mean more chickens, as it sometimes does for others getting a WIR.

I agree, we also have loads of jobs which could be done inside the house but OH will get on with garden jobs pretty quickly. You must be missing them hope your parents are saving you some eggs!

Hahaha! When we moved house last year, within 3 days, the rabbit and 2 guinea pigs had been ordered a 3 floor penthouse suite (only suitable other quarters was a garage with no windows), then purchased a cube and 4 chickens. Before decorating the house properly new wir ordered and now painted (thanks to lewis at avaries4u), tomorrow...another bulk bag of wood chips arriving for the little darlings to play in....then onto decorating over the summer hols and after our hol...2 new girlies...1 bluebelle and 1 my son is going to choose...yippee....it will give us something to look forward to after our hol...

I knew I wouldn't be the only one. And that's what I need to get too - more woodchip! Although this WIR is for the chickens it'll benefit me a lot too - I can imagine cleaning being a lot easier now. Still waiting on the roof... please be delivered today .
