kaza46
I have now moved my 3wk old chicks and their mum into the Eglu again but i have been closing the house at night (because of foxes) and i just wanted to know if that was ok and that the chicks aren't needing to get to food at night? chicken bark
It is probably earlier than I would do it but I think that it is okay. As long as you don't have any lie ins. When I moved my 5 week olds outside they stopped having 24 hour access to food and water. Mind you they all come flying out in the mornings. kaza46
Would your advice be to leave the door open to them? They are in a Eglu and i'm sure they are fine i am just over cautious
chicken bark
I prefer to keep the door shut - like you I'm probably over cautious.
Redwing
I'd keep the door shut at night but try to make sure its opened quite early in the morning so they have a nice long day
coco
I have 12 week old chicks and find they are better with the door shut, it can be quite chilly at night.
Griffin
Mine have always been shut in at night without food & water if they're with a broody. I let them out at 7am.
