First time poster. I've had my three chickens for about ten months now - one of them has been sneezy and coughy to some extent since we had her. Some days it's better and some it's worse but she never seems troubled by it, runs around with the others and is a productive layer. Apart from the sneezing and coughing there's no signs of any problems - although today I did catch her coughing up a large stringy bit of clear mucus. They were vaccinated and I ran them through a course of flubinvet about two months ago.

My gut feeling is that it's just a sickly chicken that we've got and beyond that there's not too much to realize. If it were serious we'd have had problems by now or the other two would have come down with something.

Any thoughts?

It could be mycoplasma, I have a problem with this myself at the moment, my six bantams have all got it. I have had them for 7 months and they have been sneezing on and off all the time. They have become stressed recently as I added some new birds in a seperate cube next door to them and apparently stress can bring on full on Myco. I would take her to the vets for some antibiotics and nip the problem in the bud before it spreads to others in your flock. I wish I had taken my sooner. Good luck
