Hi, i'm planning to get two buff orpington ducks, and was wondering what the best kind of pool could be for them? i can't have a pond, and according to the omlet guide that's a bad idea anyway. I my first thought was a rigid paddling pool, but it' hard to find one! i don't like ordering things online because all of the things i've ever ordered onling have never come. I looked in argos and they are all blow up. I'm lookig for something small, but enough room for two ducks. There was one rigid one i liked, but £18 is a bit much for a small paddling pool. There was one simple one which i like the look of, but it was inflatable. Would an inflatable one pop straightaway or would it be alright? If it had a kind of 'ramp' leaning against it to help the ducks get into it, would that help to stop it from popping?

Here's what I was looking at:

If not, does anyone know something that would do the job?

They'd pop an inflatable pool

The 'sea shell' type kids paddling pool/sandpits seem very popular for ducks, I saw some in Tesco recently on offer for about £8 I think

An option is to ask on Freecycle, so many people will have outgrown paddling pools in the shed

Thanks :)

Just had an idea as I was typing this...what about a big plastic box (the kind you can get in 99p shops etc - the really big ones) dug halfway into the ground? That way when it gets dirty I can just take out most of the water with a jug, the lift out the box to empty and clean it....?

Jst thinking :)(duck)(duck)

that would work yes :D the low ones you slide under a bed with a couple of bricks as a step would do without the hassle of digging it in
