sadietoo
Picked up three new girls today to go with my lovely gentle Light Sussex. will post photos tomorrow if possible! Having set my shopping list as Barnevelder, Marans and Silkie, I changed my mind about the Marans due to bad press..! Today I was offered a choice of Speckled Sussex, lavender Cochin, White Orpington and Dark Brahmas.... not what I wanted but...well you know how it is ....A very difficult choice, so I went (I thought) with temperament, and now have two Brahmas and the Orpie...maybe wrong? No names yet, but one of the brahmas is mad, and the poor Orpie is not having a good time....tonight I have separated them, will reintroduce tomorrow and see how it goes. The orpie is 16 weeks old, and the Brahmas about 12 weeks and about half the size, not that that deterred the little darling in her full on attacks..having watched her for a while I was reminded of Cato in the Pink Panther films... Poor little orpie she was constantly ambushed by the little menace, the other Brahma is a darling..... Perhaps I will call the feisty one, Wendy.. after Rupert Murdoch's wife!!! Griffin
Brahmas are just the best, I have three gold Brahmas and a young blue partridge Brahma. Hoping to get a lemon pyle from my latest hatch and then that's it, I must not have any more Brahmas! I'm surprised to hear you've got a feisty one, hopefully she'll settle down in a day or two. Bridget & Francesca normally just bumble along together, minding their own business, flock politics seem to pass them by. The baby hangs out with her Salmon Faverolles chum and they are sweet little girls who I imagine spend their days talking about flowers, kittens, ribbons and all things sweet and delightful
