As I am all about digital,I have no idea where to start - the paperwork says she needs a fully manual film SLR,preferably a Nikon. Does anyone out there have some good camera knowledge,& can recommend me a decent model to go for,.....I have found a few on eBay but I am cautious about buying until I have done a bit more research. We have been told to expect to pay between £60 & £100 Alternatively,are there any good online or high street retailers where I can get a good second hand one? We have a shop here called Castle Cameras, but I am sure you'd have something similar where you are. I did a photography course when I was about 16 and I had a very basic Zenith camera. But it did the job and you learnt all about what a camera does without relying on pre-set buttons. Can they give some examples of suitable cameras that you can then ask shops for second hand ones with equivalent facilities ?? Does she need it from day 1 ? (or can she wait and get it in the first few weeks ??) Do students re-sell their camera's ? Sam Posted August 25, 2011 Share Posted August 25, 2011 Our school has loads of Minolta X-700s and that's what they recommend we buy. Also good if you get a good lens with the body. I would imagine there would be a few on eBay as GCSEs for this year are over. Our teacher bought all of the minoltas on eBay and has had some great bargains.
