lillybettybabs
Ok i have three lovely cheeky chick all supposed to be Lavender Araucanas. But the oldest has yellow fluff (the others are grey)and is now growing white feathers, They all came from blue eggs but before i email the breeder and look daft can this happened and then become grey or is it an egg mix up? Snowy
But if it came from a blue egg, at least it will still be a blue egg layer (or a cockerel) Be interesting to see what it does turn into!
lillybettybabs
I seem to have named it Charlie Boy

Mum
But if it came from a blue egg, at least it will still be a blue egg layer (or a cockerel) Be interesting to see what it does turn into! Wonder if it could be a cream legbar one the one hand, that would be disappointing if you expected an araucana, but on the plus side, it will lay blue eggs. As a Bertie Bonus, if it is a legbar, you will know now whether it is a Charlie Boy or a Charlotte.
lillybettybabs
I might email the breeder, He doesn't seem to have Cream legbar's on his websight but it could be a mix up. I'll try and take a photo he's a feisty little thing. Trust me to get the odd bod!
lillybettybabs
Here's Charlie Boy, The grey bit behind him is another chicks back, As you can see not a hint of sliver or grey in sight!
Redwing
I cant see the pic as I am at work and my company thinks that all pics in posts are liable to bring the system to its knees! Yellow down normally matures as buff or white, it could be a white Araucana but its unlikely as they are quite rare See what the breeder has to say

emmastar
My chick was quite yellow but is now a stunning grey she nearley looks identical to yours . the grey started to come through as the wing feathers started . Edit pic added she was very yellow this makes her look quite grey

lillybettybabs
I've had an email back from the breeder, He has hatched lots of Lavender Araucana this year and had two whites so he thinks one of his hens has a white Araucana in it's line. if it is a boy i guess he'll throw white and lavender?
