Henergy
My Devon Rock is still laying softies which is fine as she's only just started laying - the first couple were just membraned eggs but today had a shell but very rough & porous looking & very very thin shelled. My question is, is it the outer part of the shell that has the colour ? I am hoping for a green egg from her but todays effort was pale with slushy brown marks ! Mum
To the best of my knowledge yes, it is the outer shell that is the colour (although, I think for some breeds the colour goes all the way through the shell).
