Janepie33
8 chickens and only 1 or 2 eggs a day. No good at all when we want to offer guests lovely fresh eggs for breakfast! We has more eggs in the cold dark winter months. What's going on!?
Daphne
Lice or mites on the birds? red mite in the coop? moult? worms? broody? or has any of them been broody as sometimes this seems to disrupt the flow? I'd check for all of the above. And double check "Ooops, word censored!"ody is moping - could be an underlying infection, which is less likely but does happen. If no problems then it could just be the weather turning and they are getting ready to moult
Olly
You haven't got an egg eater, have you? Or someone laying softies that are getting eaten?
percy049
Are they pure breeds? pure breeds slow down and usually stop laying in the winter, but hybrids carry on. Perhaps they are laying them away from the nest in a secret location.
