My next door neighbours son was practising with his band and no amount of talking would get it to stop ..She called me an "impatient old woman"and we both lost the plot . I maybe impatient when it comes to costant noise but never old

Forward 2 years and 3 chickens later I was concerned 3 months ago that she would make a fuss about them , but not a word said

I was out mowing the grass this morning and she walked past with her head down trying to pretend she had not seen me. I thought it was stupid to keep carrying this on even if she did think I was old so I got my nerve up and said "Shall we let by gones be by gones ,The reply was a shrug and a "OK by me"...Carried on walking ,turned and said "I love your chickens by the way , they are just wonderful.Especially the black one she is certainly the boss " ....Carried on walking and said "I hear you talking to them all the time "

I am one very happy chicken owner.Well done my girls ,.as they seem to have broken the ice

That's great. I am always so aware of how very fortunate we are to have such great neighbours, I know so many people who don't. Hope things continue to improve. Your chickens definitely deserve an extra treat today

That is such a nice story. I now have this rather funny mental picture of you and your neighbour on either side of a garden fence with chickens on one side and a drum kit on the other - a bit like a spoof on those Weathershied ads or whatever that fence paint is

I seem to remember you posting about this before I'm so pleased she likes them. It's nice to be able to get on with neighbours even if it's just to pass the time of day.
