miffy
Its official...... I am an idiot..... When I made up the layers pellets with the FV night before last I accidentally made it double strength , no idea why So instead of quarter a teaspoon for a kilo, I did a half teaspoon. They had them all day yesterday but I corrected the dose this morning. Although now I think about it of course they had the double dose for about 2 hours this morning as well. Reading the tub, if a double dose is given then there should be an egg withdrawal period, does this still apply in my situation do I really need to waste 2 weeks of eggs? Its official....I am an idiot....
laurmurf
Personally, I wouldn't worry about a slightly higher dose for the chooks.... or the eggs! When chooks are treated for gape worm the dose is doubled, so it won't hurt the chooks and as long as you don't sell or give the eggs to anyone else you can decide whether to eat them yourself or not. LolaLayla
I would phone tomorrow for advice from the people who you got the flubenvet from. But my thoughts would be if you assume you gave them the double dose for 2 days which would be 2/7 of the period for dosing then you would withdraw eggs for 4/14 (given that it said if you double dosed for the full 7 days to withdraw eggs for 14). Arithmetic was never my strong point but does my thinking make sense? Hope it all works out ok
Egluntyne
I wouldn't worry either ... just 'dilute' your already mixed pellets with some more to achieve the right dose.

miffy
thank you for your replies, I have already corrected my error of dosage. I was rather concerned about egg withdrawal period, but think we will just not worry about it. Thanks again xx
