LolaLayla
Just wondered if anyone can explain Layla's behaviour. She is a year and a half old hybrid and yesterday spent a while going in and out the nest box until she eventually laid an egg. At one point she came out and started to pick up grass and throw it on to her back Any ideas as to why she would do this?
Tweety
I think it's a sort of nesting thing - mine often do it with the Hemcore in their nesting boxes.
jennym
Hehe, one of mine does that all the time, especially after she's just laid. Just building a nest, I think. She's never been broody though so hopefully it's not a sign for you either!

I've never seen her do this before but glad it does not look like a broody sign
