Smart Feeder - Light sensor values

The last time I was on here Myrtle was quite poorly and I needed to go away overnight so wasn't able to give her all her medicine...BUT silly me, I worked out that as she was originally prescribed it watered down that she could have it like that for the day I was away.

This worked a treat and she drank the whole lot during the day while I was gone. The next day was back to giving her the medicine in the syringe with poor Myrtle wrapped up in a chicken straight jacket.

All is well now and has been since Myrtle finished the medicine. In fact her sister, Melody, who didn't lay the whole time Myrtle was in the dog crate, suddenly produced an eeg as soon as her sister came back

 

The thing is, I am 99% certain Myrtle hasn't laid an egg since she has been feeling better. She had only just started to lay before she was ill. Do you think she has decided that it is winter already ?

 

Hope everyone out there is well. I have been so busy the last few weeks I meet myself coming back. If only there were more hours in the day....

Hello luvachicken. I'd wondered where you had gone and even though I can't answer your egg questions, it is so good to hear that Myrtle is doing well now Your care of her was clearly Ace.

I'm glad all is better now, it will take a while for the egg laying to start again but it will probably start up for a short period before winter

Sorry, I didn't mean to worry anyone, just that things have been so hectic recently that the pc didn't even fit in my spare time , if there was any spare time.

But I did keep meaning to come on so that I could tell you all how well Myrtle has been doing and that luckily none of the others caught her germs, and that "Ooops, word censored!"ody seemed to mind her coming back into the run/house having been gone for nearly 3 weeks. She couldn't wait to get back in with her friends. Thank goodness for dog crates and the odd bit of rabbit run

Do you think they all recognised one another? Do chickens give greetings to eachother like dogs do ?

All the time Myrtle was in the rabbit run they did all talk to each other. And, one night when Myrtle was going to bed indoors, something frightened the others outside and set them off making a racket, so Myrtle joined in, even though nothing frightened her.

They did all run round really happy together and there was no squabbling even they had been apart for some time.
