I'm Happy

Recommended Posts

Tuesday my Omlet netting arrived. I put it up and finally was able to let the girls out to free range. Lucy decided to test her wings and flew right over it! My neighbor's children helped me round her up and get her back in the netting and then I put the three of them back in the eglu go run. I went in and found a YouTube video on how to clip wings and yesterday I had a neighbor help hold the three and I clipped their wings. I just retired from nursing and was afraid to cut their wings for fear of hurting them, funny when you think of it. Anyway, they seem to enjoy themselves and have taken a fancy to my zucchini plant, it is missing a few leaves now! I don't know about the girls but I am very happy now!

I am looking forward to letting them out to free range every day. I just want to tell every one that I can't meet with them 'cause I just want to spend time with my chickens. I don't dare tell them it is because of that, they will think I have totally gone over the edge! Since it is the end of the season and I only have a few small zucchinis on my plants I don't care one hoot if they tear it to bits - it is too much fun watching them go at it.
