Hi,

My Girlies are suffering with a Slug infestation in thier run, the Slugs are getting in thier food and drowning in the Glug. :(

Does anyone have any chicken friendly ideas for keeping them at bay, or is it just something that I need to live with on the West coast of Scotland?

I'm in the west so we usually have mild wet winters (also quite windy being coastal)....although the last two have been different! I have been here for 40 years and it is rare to get snow lying. One year I bought sledges in a sale and they sat in the garage for about 8 years as we had no snow. So I do not have much hope of the temperature killing them off :( Maybe they will drown in the excessive rain

I've had big slugs like you and toss them into a field  rarely see them now.

My girls don't eat them but reading about the number of parasites that are passed on in slugs I'm quite glad :D

 Did not know about the parasites I declare war on slugs from today as I get around 10 or 20 each day to remove from the feed and water where do they all come from  could do with some frost to get rid of them.
