memphisto
What you would call the markings on my 2 new girls? I know they are the typical brown chicken, but both seem to have distinct markings and would be interested to know what (if any) breed cross they may be, that's probably not the right term but I'm new to this so please forgive me Willow has lots of white, Maisy is very dark orange on her head, they both seem to have a similar pattern to Bubbles, my bluebelle chicken. Sorry, I can only get a close up of Maisy, Willow is still a bit boisterous and enjoys tearing round the place at high speed! Last picture is of what I came down to after popping upstairs for 5 minutes earlier today! Willow at the back, Maisy at front Maisy Chicken invasion Many Thanks
jimnpaula
As far as I'm aware that's standard feather variation. When my ex batts (standard gingernut ranger/warren/little brown hen hybrids) arrived Tara pointed out the feather pattern on the back of one of them, and as they have regrown it is possible to see the differences between them all. The colour sometimes changes when they moult too, possibly because the old feathers have faded. P

JanTheDiver
They both have the colouring/feather marking of my Luna and I was told that she was a 'Goldline' but this is probably just a hybrid name. I think we were told that she was a cross between a RIR and a Light Sussex. Hope this helps Jan
