Mr Rhode Island Red
After coming home from a (brilliant) mart yesterday with two new pullets I thought it was worth a mention on the Forum The are both supposed to be 20 weeks old, but they only look about 16 weeks old. One is a black Rock and the other is a bluebell. They were both a bit sneezy when I brought them home so I put some garlic in their water and since then they have much improved I may possibly be putting up pictures in a few days
Space Chick
No "may possibly" you HAVE to put pictures on
Chucky Mama
Lovely Do keep them isolated from the others though for the moment and observe a decent quarantine period, especially if they are sneezing

Mr Rhode Island Red
One of my new additions to my flock, a black rock pullet, not far from point of lay, has developed some kind of chicken cold. She is sneezing and coughing pathetically rather often. I have already tried crushing a clove of garlic and putting it in the water, but it doesn't appear to have much effect. Should I try a different antidote or should I give the garlic time to work? Regards, Mr Rhode Island Red
Mr Rhode Island Red
why were these two topics merged?
Egghead68
I would bring her in the warm. Citracidal (sp?) is supposed to be good for snuffles. You could also try contacting the person you got her from for advice. How does her breathing sound when you put your ear to her back? Any respiratory problems and she will need to see a vet for antibiotics.
Chucky Mama
why were these two topics merged? They were merged because they are about the same birds and people do like to follow progress. Your experience from start to finish may help others.
