I had a problem with my girls in the summer. Mine free range but I don't think they were getting the right stuff. I now give mine some limestone flour (probably about a tablespoon to half a grub of layers pellets), oyster shell, grit and to be sure, dried crushed egg shells. Someone may possibly say I am now going overboard but it has done the trick and there seems to be no ill effect....so far :D Hopefully someone with more experience will be along to give you advice too :D
