Although I was determined not to succumb, I'm very interested in acquiring a couple of Burford Browns to add to my little flock.

There is only one breeder - at the other end of the country from me, of course - and the cost of bringing just a couple of POLs up seems prohibitive to a Scotswoman!

I wondered if anyone else in Central Scotland would also be interested in having a few so that the cost of delivery per bird could be reduced? Just an idea ... otherwise maybe an omleteer could suggest a safe and inexpensive courier?

I keep thinking about increasing my chicken numbers but I was not sure how well they would travel if it was a long distance I would love Silkies.

I have seen online that there is a National Poultry Show in Lanark at the end of January and thought I may go to look. I am not sure if they will sell there or not as I have no experience of these shows. It is a shame that there are not many breeders in the area.

They look lovely . I don't have room for any new girls at the moment but certainly would consider one when I do need to restock. Their eggs look fab .

The hens look like my brown leghorn who I raised as a day old Hoping she will lay in the spring. The burford brown eggs sound fab tho'. Sadly I've no hen vacancies just now.
