abwsco
I was ecstatic when the door finally came off in my hand Good luck with your new machine, abwsco, and well done for getting it delivered when you want and the old one removing Thanks Lucy I could have got it slightly cheaper on the www but the shop has brilliant customer service. When I bought my Bosch from them and there was a delay on the model I wanted they loaned me a machine free of charge for two months even delivering it and installing it. Not many places do that. Chicken deficient
I forgot to say, I got a luggage weighing spring balance hook thing and a very big plastic bag...you would not believe how much washing 6kg actually is! I am not really sad, but I have been weighing out washing regularly since , as the various different cycles have different weight limits - until I get used to how much 2kg of shirts looks like! I don't think the death of the door was exactly premeditated, though I do think that, in retrospect, it probably wouldn't have broken without me. As I stood there holding the door, looking around the kitchen, I did notice that a few of the cupboard doors were looking rather wonky too. I think that me using them to leverage myself back up to standing, due to a pregnancy-knackered pelvis didn't help, and that a severely inappropriate washing load with a resultant grossly unbalanced spin cycle that caused some very loud banging noises and the door to leave contact with the front of the machine with each rotation...may possibly have been the final straw... donald
Have Miele vacum and dishwasher best I have ever had. I nearly got a Miele washing machine & the guy in Currys told me they were really reliable but I got an LG instead(something to do with having no ball bearings etc etc??) and so far so good(not a lot of difference in the price). Miele are very heavy though but I would have probably had about 2 more dishwashers during the time the current one has lasted. Have had Bosch Zannusi washing machines/ dishwashers and the originals were great but have had 3 or 4 since etc and not as good. I was told that Zannussi is electrolux?? One Zanussi dishwasher needed a new motor after 8 months. Never again! Will go for Miele. very robust.
abwsco
Interesting link of who owns what here I know my Miele vac is 17 years old, think the Miele dishwasher and the fridgefreezer (Miele although it's Liebherr badged so cost less) are both coming up to ten years old. I really must write the dates bought on the instruction manuals!
Daphne
OMG This is a fab site which I'd forgotten about; I re-used it after my Mum decided she wasn't keen on her new washing machine and decided not to buy a washer/dryer for myself. Trouble is, I've scared myself into inertia and still don't have a dryer!
