Pro - Does anyone else's nest boxes get soaked in rain?

Well, as the title says I am wondering if my cube is too big for my four bantams. I originally had six girls but have recently, sadly lost two and I am wondering if the remaining girls will get cold in the cube? Adding extra chickens is not an option unfortunately.

I have three in a cube with a 3 metre run- they aren't complaining! Last winter when it got down to -12 here I put a cardboard box in the cube, thinking it might be warmer - so they perched on top!

I have four pekins in my cube with a 3m run and they are happy. I had no problems over the cold winter last year, although a few nights they slept huddled in the nest box!! I think yours will be fine x

Patricia, do watch out for red mites if you're using cardboard in the housing; a friend did this and ended up with the cardboard coated in red mites

That was last winter at -12. It didn't work so I removed it in the end and left them cuddled up together and they were fine. I keep meaning to get some more banties to fill the space but just haven't got round to it!
