Janepie33
Having looked up my symptoms on the internet (I know, it's the worst thing you can do!! ) I think I have a Subconjunctival haemorrhage. Apparently you can get it by sneezing , vomiting, carrying heavy objects or just rubbing your eye. I didn't know anything about it until a work colleague told me that my eye had gone all bloodshot. Rather startled me when I looked in the mirror (a bit late for Halloween I thought!). Hope I don't scare the children when I go into school on Friday. http://www.patient.co.uk/health/Subconjunctival-Haemorrhage.htm
Olly
I've had this once, and it does look rather scary! Do be careful though - if you get any other symptoms, pop into your optician or the GP and get it checked.
snowberry
It could also be conjunctivitus(sp?). The pharmacist at your local chemist should also be able to advise.
Snowy
It does look very scary doesn't it? But it will settle on it's own, as long as you don't have any other symptoms. Any green discharge or pain - make sure you get it checked out.
Mrs Webmuppet
I had one of those bleeds in the layers of the eye a little while ago ( jolly painful), I was at work at the time, the boss sent me straight off to the opticians, optician went a funny colour and phoned the eye dept. at the hospital! Spent the following morning hanging around the hospital eye dept, the doc spent ages testing my eye and bunging drops in it..........ended up with ointment and eye drops, it cleared up in a week.
