Mr Neep's website looks like it's all about swedes to me... When I said grate a bit of turnip into your salad I meant the nice little white chaps with a purpley tinge to the top - please don't eat raw swede on my account!

Swede: Big, the size of two fists, purple outside, yellow flesh when cooked.

Turnip: Smaller, about the size of a satsuma, white with a purple tinge, tastes of hazlenuts.

Is this a north/south thing?

This picture from the Mr Neeps site definitely shows purple turnips not orange swedes although they are clearly not babies, but I think you'd be OK to use the recipes for you glut of turnips.

Neeps are Turnips in Scotland and Oop North and swedes Dahn Sarth.

If in doubt....give 'em a ring.

I made the Quick Turnip Soup ages ago. It was ok.
