Cinnamon
We have been fans of Bones since the very beginning,& have really enjoyed the plot lines, the deepening character stories and the humor. However,it has IMHO,ceased to be the great family show (albeit for older children) it used to be,and is now so unnecessarily gory that I for one can no longer watch. It is such a shame,as I WANT to follow the characters and see what happens to them, but it is just so horribly gross that I cannot. One scene in particular a week or so ago nearly made me lose my supper,it was that bad .... Ok,I am a bit squeamish, and I do have a thing about the body part that was featured, but even so,I just think.its a shame that a good show is now relying on the shock factor. docsquid
I love Kathy Reichs' books, but watch very little TV, so can't comment on the show.
squiffs
I did forensic anthropology at university so I've probably got a sturdier stomach than most I haven't watched bones, because I don't have sky and I think that's what it's on, but I love David Boreanaz, and I love Kathy Reichs, so I always wanted to watch it. Cinnamon
He is lovely, isn't he? Although a bit too perfectly handsome to be my type It was a very good show, but I think the messy stuff is too much now, plus they have jumped the shark with the relationship between the two main characters. He's a beaut... my OH is tolerating me working my way through seasons 1-7 of buffy (I just finished s3) again, and I'm hinting at an Angel box set for christmas! I may ask for Bones season 1, too! Couperwife
I love Bones. I missed seasons 3 to 6 due to "council telly" as the lovely woman from Sky called it when we had to downgrade to Freeview so ive only just picked up at the end of Season 6 now beginning of 7. I agree some of it is gory, but i thought it was always at the same level - maybe its me it seems to be more relationship based than it was, but i suppose it would be as they are seem to pairing up. I hope it doesnt fall flat now - i hate it when that happens. cathy x
j00lz_12366
I have seen some of the earlier episodes but now I don't have sky I cant watch it. Something that has put me off though is reading Kathy Reich's books because Brennan is a completely different person in the books to the TV series and I find myself chunnering away at myself over that rather than enjoying the books!
