I can get that you might pinch them for yourself, as a pet or to eat even, but don't understand the violence towards creatures that cannot fight back. I also know that really I should learn how to despatch a chook in the event that they needed to be put out of pain and misery, but I am so worried about getting it wrong that I can't bring myself to go and do a lesson. A friend of mine gave me a lovely Beware of the Chickens sign, but it won't be going on the gate. (We do have a Big Bouncy Boxer with a picture of him on the gate, but I certainly wouldn't call him defenceless). It just isn't worth advertising the fact that they are there in the garden. Apart from the value of the cube and the go there are just too many oddballs out there that would take pleasure in causing death/ injury to the girls.
