CatieB
We are probably the last people in the world to get a sat nav so need some help please. We only got it a few weeks ago and the battery doesn't seem too great, how long should it last and do they drain if the unit isnt used. For example when we turned it off last week the battery was more than 80% charged yet when we turn it on today its only 55. Is it standard to have to charge before you use or as you do? We are not sure if this is usual or if we should take it back. Its a TOM TOM if it makes any difference. Thanks
Chicken shack
They do not hold their charge but once you plug it back in to car it will recharge as you use it.
chick wiggle
If its not plugged into the car, they do drain their batterys pretty quickly. Which tomtom do you have? i have QL Live and love it, never had a problem
bluekarin
Ours only works when plugged into the cigarette lighter in the car. We use ours a fair bit, even for local journeys, just to show where speed traps are. It is most useful. But, we do need to update it as sometimes it tries to send us down one way streets
Redwing
Ours lasts 40 mins max if its not plugged in so I will use it without the lead for short journeys but always plug it in if going very far If you think about the lead and where it goes then you can usually get it looking quite tidy and fix it in place semi permenantly so you dont have dangling leads that are very obvious, I have a groove that runs around the back of my steering wheel mount that the lead sits in nicely
