Leonie56
I've had chickens for the past 2 and a half years. I had two chickens brought with my eglu from Omlet And my Lilly died last week of impacted egg. I have tried to introduce a new friend to the remaining Chicken but she's having none of it, she had badly Pecked the new chickens neck causing a nasty wound I was just wondering would it be ok if I kept the new Chicken in a cardboard box overnight inside until the Morning when I can get a separate house for her? Thanks
sjp
she should be fine overnight as she'll be a sleep just make plenty of air holes in the box and put the box in quiet corner but not covered as not to restrict the airflow
Plum
Well done seperating once there's a wound. When you get the other house just take it slowly and let them sort things out through the wire before introducing them. Some people get away with putting them together straight away but I've always taken the slow route with success. Sorry you lost Lilley it's rotten losing your first girl.
