bluekarin
I would like to make a cushion cover like one of these http://www.johnlewis.com/250604/Product.aspx I am not too sure what this type of pleating is called, so am finding i a little difficult to look up a tutorial. Any ideas? Ta
Olly
It almost looks more like smocking than pleating - try that?
Snowy
I've seen that kind of pleating on curtain headings and it is called smocked heading. If you google it some images come up.
bluekarin
Thank you! I shall look that up tomorrow. Now you mention it, it does look like smocking
Plum
You could get a similar effect by making pleats in fabric then folding the pleats one way and machining across them and then folding the other and machining alternately across the fabric Jennie Rayment style. Called mexican tucks shown half way down this page. or how to on this page Ah now I know what some of my feet are for.
bluekarin
Thanks Plum. The tutorial is great. You'd think something like that would be easy, but I think I am doing my pleats too wide as it makes the whole piece of fabric twist oddly.
