Free Insulation - Scotland

Recommended Posts

We had a leaflet this week from Everwarm with headings from Fife Council and the energy savings trust offering free insulation for homes in our area. Today they visited and it seems that we can get our loft insulated for no charge even though we are not in receipt of any benefits, so I've arranged to have this done.

My daughter is worried it is a con but I don't see how it can be, but she's made me feel a bit concerned. Have any of you other Scottish Omleteers had this done? Am I right to go ahead? It all seems to check out ok.

I had cavity wall insulation done last year but it wasn't free then  . It was only about £150 so still heavily subsidised. I've since heard of people getting the same thing done for free in Edinburgh too.

I was offered loft insulation as well but ours is floored so it wasn't really an option. I'm pretty sure this is genuine so there shouldn't be any need to worry!
